As of recent estimates, New York State has a population of nearly 20 million people, making it the fourth most populous state in the country,
with New York City being the largest city.

Age Distribution

New York's demographics reflect a broad age spectrum, with around 21% of the population under 18 years old, and about 17% aged 65 and older.
This is very similar to the national average distribution by age.

Ethnic Composition

The state is characterized by its ethnic diversity, particularly in urban areas. Approximately 57% of residents identify as White, 15% as
Black or African American, about 20% as Hispanic or Latino, and roughly 9% as Asian. This rich tapestry of backgrounds fosters a multicultural

Education and Income

New York is home to a highly educated populace, with around 40% of residents aged 25 and older holding a bachelor's degree or higher,
significantly above the national average of only 35%. The state's median household income is approximately $84,578, again significantly
higher than the national average of $78,195.  Though this figure drastically varies between urban and rural areas and within neighborhoods
within urban areas. While New York boasts significant wealth, it also faces challenges related to income inequality, particularly in densely populated cities.

Employment

The state has a diverse economy, driven by industries such as finance, healthcare, technology, and entertainment. New York City serves
as a global financial hub, housing Wall Street and numerous multinational corporations. This diversity in employment opportunities attracts
