Using GeoLytics Data Sets In Your Classroom

Classroom

If you teach an undergrad or graduate course in statistics,
economics, sociology, mathematics, geography, marketing or
so many other topics using Census data from GeoLytics may
be extremely helpful in making the course more tangible for your
students. You can run out a data set from our products to give
your students to use in their homework. Our products include
data on population, race, education, age, gender, employment,
ancestry, language spoken, income, household structure, access
to health insurance, and so, so many more topics.

We are happy to have you give them data sets that they can use
to do homework or projects with ? you can use it to teach them
how to do the appropriate calculations as well as to gain insights
about the environment of the area, they are analyzing.

We will even let you use the data sets with your class without
buying a network license ? but only a single user license (you)
as long as you make it clear that it?s your data and they only
can use it for your class.

The easiest data set to use is the American Community Survey.
It has the largest and most complete data set. It is released
annually so you can also purchase multiple sets and then use
them to compare areas that may be changing over time. Additionally
we have historic census data sets that we have cross-walked
(normalized) to the 2020 boundaries so you can give them a data
set from 2000 and another from 2023 so they can see the changes
that have occurred in their lifetime.

The data is available at many geographic areas both large (cities
and counties) and small (tracts, zip codes, block groups).
